I pointed the engine at my own site,
and search impressions went from
59,643 to 600,569.
The Gourmet Host is a real, live business, running since 2023: a WordPress site, mobile apps, a newsletter, GA4 and Search Console. On 22 February 2026 a focused SEO and AEO strategy began on it, and the system has run ever since.
Everything below comes straight from Google Search Console and GA4. Every figure compares the latest 28 day window against the 28 day window in which the strategy began.
What I actually ran.
The same sequence I point at a client's site. Only the brand, the voice and the keyword set change.
- Demand research: find the search demand in the market, cluster it by intent, and prioritise what the site could realistically win
- Editorial briefs in the site's own voice, one per cluster, written before any drafting begins
- Long form built to outrank what was already there, written for readers first, structured so Google and the answer engines can quote it, and published in clusters that treat one topic in depth
- On page tuning: titles, metas, structure and internal links, moving page two rankings onto page one
- Internal linking, so the whole library lifts together and nothing is left orphaned
- Weekly measurement: read the numbers, see what moved, aim the next cycle at the next opportunity
That sequence, without a paid promotion campaign behind it, produced the two curves below.
The two curves.
Impressions are how often the site appeared in a search result. Clicks are how often someone chose it. Both are rolling 28 day totals sampled on Sunday, so no window is compared against a window of a different length.
Clicks moved further than impressions: a factor of 27.8 against 10.1. Clickthrough rate went from 0.6% to 1.6% across the same pair of windows, which is what it looks like when the pages start matching what people actually meant. Website users followed in GA4, from 1,247 to 11,061.
Growth this fast is really breadth.
When the focused SEO and AEO strategy began on 22 February 2026, 45 search terms on The Gourmet Host earned at least one click over 28 days. In the latest window, 1,491 did.
That is the mechanism in one line. The library now answers a far wider set of questions than it could in February, so the site turns up for far more of what people actually search, and far more of those searches end in a click.
Breadth is also why the curve keeps climbing rather than spiking. Each cluster adds terms the site had never appeared for, those terms compound with the ones already earning clicks, and the surface that earns search widens again with the next one.
What the library looks like now.
One article never carries it alone. Every new page widens the surface that earns search, and steady tuning lifts the pages already published.
